Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Cross-Omics is a key area within the Emma CPM catalyst wheel, dedicated to exploring and applying AI techniques using multi-omics data to enhance patient care in various ways. The AI of this approach focuses on state-of-the-art AI techniques specifically for datasets with small patient populations but numerous informative parameters. These datasets are derived from, and thus integrate insights from, omics fields such as genomics, proteomics and metabolomics.
By combining the predictive capabilities of AI with cross-omics data, valuable information will be extracted to drive diagnostics and therapy. This will assist clinicians with tasks such as early diagnostics, identification of potential treatment options, and early detection of treatment success. Additionally, in contrast to traditional statistical methods, this approach focuses on individual patient prognostics, enabling true personalized medicine.
The Emma CPM is a center of expertise at the Amsterdam UMC focusing on patients and families with a rare genetic disorder.
A collaboration between the Emma Children's Hospital, the Department of Human Genetics, the Laboratory of Genetic Metabolic Diseases, and various departments and laboratories.
